PROMISE VANCOUVER
Merging 'Beauty & Function' through reclaimed white-washed cedar & LED back-lit colour changing light
This sign was designed for Promise Vancouver, a non-profit organisation in the downtown east-side that works with children and youth.
The brief was to design a storefront sign based on their existing logo that was minimal, beautiful and made an impact in the surrounding environment.
Made from naturally weathered reclaimed cedar fence panels and finished with Osmo exterior white one coat from Greenworks. The wording 'promise' is laser cut and backed with acrylic so that it glows at night.
The main design feature is that the LED back-lights which transform the sign at night into a silhouette, with colour- changing glow. The result is a gentle, yet powerful impact in an otherwise dark & deprived area of the city.
THE VILLAGE LANGLEY
'Clear & Bold' signs with a 'Vintage' style & finish
These signs were designed for The Village, a new community in Langley that cares for people with dementia.
The brief was to design signs that were bold and easy to read, without looking basic or boring.
Made from naturally weathered reclaimed cedar fence panels and finished with Osmo wax from Greenworks and distressed. The wording has been deep laser etched and filled with paint to contrast the wood.
The designs are vintage in style with a modern twist. Iron Brackets were custom made by Granville Island's BC Blacksmith Miran.

BOUNDLESS Logo Wall Art with Eclipse Lighting

A series of 8x4' panels designed for Stantec Architects in Vancouver as part of their branding strategy. Made from naturally weathered reclaimed cedar fence panels that include a graduated sanding design to showcase the aesthetic diversity of the material. Wording laser etched using single and cross hatch effect.
This custom piece was made for Salvation Army - Boundless Vancouver Community Ministries and is situated in their Fraser Street Food Bank location. Made from lasercut reclaimed cedar then whitewashed to showcase the grain and weathering. Finished with colour-changing LED strip to give a stunning eclipse effect.
